Android Development Income Report November 2013
Here’s the November income report! Guess what? This is the best month so far. 😀
As usual I didn’t do anything to my apps. No updates, nothing. Downloads increased a little and as a result my revenue increased too. All my apps are getting good feedback from users.
This month I thought of publishing my games to iOS App Store. But didn’t find time to do it. Also, my results were out and I successfully survived this semester too, phew! with no preparation at all. And yea in my last post I said I will be working on a Christmas themed game, and I couldn’t do that.
But I started working on a new 2D game in Unity3D. As I am already familiar with its user interface, it was easy for me to jump into the 2D tools. I am not good with programming in C# yet. I have to learn it, may take some time. After making my game, maybe I’ll do a tutorial about creating an “infinite runner” 2D game in Unity3D. There are not many tutorials regarding this. Maybe it will help some of you.
And yea Christmas is near! Which means this month revenue will (might?) be high due to the holiday season. I am also planning to post more frequently from now. Hope you like my posts. Merry Christmas!
Android Development Income Report September 2013
Income started improving:
Didn’t increase a lot but as my downloads got reduced, this is what I can expect in the coming months too. Now to increase my revenue either I have to upload new apps or publish apps to Apple App Store. I am waiting for some software updates so I can’t publish to iOS yet. As far as new apps, I am working on two new games. I am going to polish them a lot so I can’t guarantee when they will be published.
As you know I use AdMob interstitials in 3 of my games. Recently they introduced new improved interstitials. But I can’t use them now because I didn’t receive the New AdMob update. It is currently only available to these countries: https://support.google.com/admob/v2/answer/3370004 . If these new ads are as good as they sound, then my revenue might increase 🙂 .
You might have also noticed the increase in downloads for Scary Prank Game. This is because I have been doing some Off Site SEO experiments with it. And so far the results are amazing.
I didn’t work much on anything from almost a month. From now on I will concentrate on completing the games I started developing. So what do you think about my blog so far? Do you like my posts? Should I post more oftenly? Do you have a blog of your own? Let me know in the comments.
Android Income Report July 2013 Game Development
I’ll start off by showing you the numbers first:
I predicted in one of my previous posts that I will be making more than $350 this month. I actually made $333! Not bad. I didn’t cross $350 mark because my downloads reduced during the last few days. My app somehow went up into the rankings which was bringing me more than 1000 downloads a day. But now the rankings are gone and downloads reduced to 200-300 a day. 😦 I was hoping that the downloads would remain same for few more days.
Another sad thing is my app was crashing on many devices after 1 minute of game play. That was a major bug! I didn’t notice the bug until I got many 1 star ratings and started testing the game on different devices.
I will make a lot less money the next month. Also I am making a switch to another ad network PlayHaven. I was only using AdMob ads: both banner and interstitials. Now I switched all my ads in Traffic Crossing to PlayHaven ads. PlayHaven only offers interstial ads (full screen). That too they only provide CPI (Cost Per Install) ads related to other games. When people click the ad, they are taken to the Play Store link of the app, and when they install it I get paid. These type of ads suit best for my games. There is a chance of increase in CTR and revenue per install. On the other hand AdMob provides all types of irrelevant ads. So lets see how PlayHaven will help me. I have not yet implemented these new ads in my other games. Will make a switch based on this week’s observations.
In my next post I will post detailed download statistics of my game Traffic Crossing, everything from rankings, number of installs, countries, unique users etc to type of devices they are using.
Android game development Income Report June 2013
Fourth Income report is here! And the revenue increased a lot this month due to the increase in downloads as I mentioned in my previous post. Check out the statistics below:
As you noticed my game “Traffic Crossing” did a lot better than the previous month. “Box Game” income is a little low. Note that the high impressions are due to both Banner ads and Interstitial ads by AdMob combined. And AdMob interstitials have a low eCPM. I have to change my interstitial ads from AdMob to other Ad networks. But eCPM for my Banner Ads ranges from $1.5 – $3, that’s pretty good eCPM. This month Banner Ads in the game “Traffic Crossing” made $110.62 with eCPM of $2.09 and 52405 impressions.
So this month I made $221.16! And the downloads were low the first 15 days, later they increased and stayed still. If these downloads remain same I will be making more than $350 next month. 😀 Not bad for my first 4 months.
Getting closer to my goal of making $1000/month. Â I’m super excited! More interesting news coming soon, stay tuned.
